About West Coast Bioactive

West Coast Bioactive is a Vancouver-based custom enclosure and consulting company creating naturalistic reptile and amphibian habitats that are made to function, grow and last.

Vancouver, British Columbia

The company

More than décor. A complete living system.

West Coast Bioactive brings enclosure design, background construction, hardscape, drainage, substrate, planting and clean-up crews together as one connected habitat.

The goal is straightforward: build something that supports natural behaviour, looks exceptional in the room and remains practical to maintain over time.

Projects can range from design consulting and problem-solving to complete custom builds, delivery, installation and ongoing refreshes.

What guides the work

Good design starts with what the habitat needs to do.

Animal-first planning

Every layout begins with how the animal climbs, hides, hunts, rests and regulates—not with a generic decorating formula.

Naturalism with purpose

Plants, substrate, drainage and hardscape are chosen to work as one system while creating a convincing slice of nature.

Built to mature

A strong habitat should become better as plants establish and microfauna gets to work, with support available after installation.
